LOST DOG ALERT!  Posted 2/18/10

My sheltie newly placed in my home by the No. Va. Sheltie Rescue. She got loose from my home last night (2/17/10).   Her name is Gigi, she is shy, hard to catch, needs medicines and is microchipped.  She can be lured with chicken, by crouching down and praising another dog.  She is skittish and fearful.  She got out of my gated kitchen last night at 7 pm when I went to collect the mail in American University Park. She was last spotted racing down 45st NW towards Friendship Heights and River Road.  Please ping other sites to ensure that if she is spotted we can get her back.  I can be reached at 202.537.3660.  Any help you or others can provide would be appreciated.

LOST DOG REUNITED WITH HER FAMILY

Daisy, who escaped her yard on 2/15/10 was found in woods at 39th and W Street, confused and injured, by a concerned and caring Glover Park resident who took her in as she searched for the owner.  After many calls from people who knew her, Daisy was reunited with her owner.  The caring neighbor who took care of Daisy might have saved her life by keeping her from a below freezing night in the woods.

For everyone in Glover Park who has run into him over the years, and who may wonder where he’s off to now: ABE, who at 15+ years old, passed away from cancer on 12/20/09.  A Black Lab-Border Collie mix from rural Loudoun County, for Abe’s first several years he hailed from Burleith, was a regular visitor to Dr. Yu at the former Ross Vet Clinic, and always took maximum advantage of the unique woods & water environs that we call home. As a pup, he frequented much of Glover-Archibold, Battery-Kimbel and the C&O canal (and particularly loved swimming IN the canal!). His last several years, he lived on 38th Street near W, and although he had slowed down a little, still frequented at least two or three times per day the “Ball Fields” and trails throughout Glover-Archibold Park. An exceptionally friendly, sweet, loyal and trusting companion, Abe will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
BANSKY was born on May 8th 2009 so he is just over 5 months old, he is a cream colored French Bulldog.  He loves to play with other dogs, big or small, and will be moving in right to 39th place, right off Calvert, near the elementary school.

This Is OXFORD (I went to Miami of Ohio in Oxford). He was born May 25, so he's the baby in the neighborhood. He lives on Observatory place (above Bear) and is still learning the ropes of Glover Park. If any well trained dogs would like to show him the ways, my roommates and I would really appreciate it! ;) He starts puppy kindergarten soon! He enjoys fighting with the cat, trying to escape through the fence, and coming to work on Capitol Hill. Although he has 900 toys, fingers and toes still taste the best!

COOPER is a boy pug/beagle mix

BEAR, who lives on Observatory Place,
 enjoys cruising the neighborhood
and local parks in search of new pals.
If you have ever walked down Beecher Street, you have probably met NIKKI.  She is very gregarious and loves to greet her neighbors with various comments.  Her companion person, John, hopes you get to know her.  Its well worth it.

DAISY is a 5 year old happy-go-lucky beagle who lives on 39th Street.  She loves chasing squirrels, frolicking in the dog park, and going for long car rides.  She is a mild-mannered sweet girl who is always ready to cuddle.  Daisy is also a huge Carolina fan.  GO HEELS!

AMY is an 8-year-old golden retriever mix (mixed with what?  no one knows...) who lives on Benton Street.  She could win Neurotic Dog of the Year as she likes everything in its place and gets worried about anything out of the ordinary.  She likes tennis balls, car rides and anything made of meat.  Dislikes: cats, thunderstorms and the mailman.

Welcome to DAISY! She is a 7-month old "chiueagle" mix...she just moved into Glover Park with her proud parents, Aaron and Audrey. She came from the Washington Animal Rescue League and she adores all the walks in fantastic GP!

BRITNEY and BAILEY used to live on 39th Street and now reside on 40th Place. You'll see Bailey's face in the window of his apartment at Benton and 40th Place greeting all who pass by. He likes when you blow him kisses.
