Construction Update from MedStar Georgetown University Hospital
In follow up to the Neighborhood Update published on July 23, we want to inform you that work to create two new entrances to the Medical/Surgical Pavilion construction site will begin this Friday.
Now that the concrete batch plant is operational on the construction site, there is a need to construct two new entrances off Reservoir Road to facilitate construction vehicle traffic around the batch plant. We have received approval for the necessary permits to conduct this work and work will begin on Friday, July 31 and continue for approximately two weeks. During this time, there will be no parking on the south side of Reservoir Road between Entrance 0 (now closed) and Entrance 1 (the construction site entrance). The “no parking” signs will be posted tomorrow, Thursday, July 30. The site work will be done in two phases to ensure that there will be adequate passage for pedestrians at all times. In each phase, half of the sidewalk will be blocked off and half will remain open. During times of active construction, flaggers will be placed on the sidewalk to control the flow and ensure the safety of all pedestrians. Similar to work that was recently done to reconstruct Entrance 0, this new site work will generate some noise as curbs and portions of the sidewalk are demolished. However, all related noise will be within statutory limits set the by the District of Columbia,
Thank you for your support during the construction of the Medical/Surgical Pavilion.
