Large Equipment Delivery Notice from MedStar Georgetown University Hospital
We want to provide advanced notice regarding the delivery of a large piece of construction equipment to the Georgetown campus on Tuesday, November 5 at 1 a.m.This delivery is happening in the early morning based on suggestions from community members. This equipment is necessary and required for the DC Water work going on at the construction site.
The DC Department of Transportation (DDOT) requires a permit for all overweight/oversized deliveries such as this. As outlined in the permit, the contractor is required to follow the trip route without deviation; the route is specifically prescribed by DDOT. We want you to be aware that the prescribed DDOT route is slightly different from the route outlined in the construction management plan (CMP).
Per the Maryland and District of Columbia Department of Transportation, the equipment will travel down Wisconsin Ave, turn onto Calvert Street, turn onto Tunlaw Road, turn onto 37th Street, then make another turn onto Reservoir Road (note route could change). It will enter/exit the Hospital at Entrance 1.
DDOT and the Metropolitan Police Department both reserve the right to revoke this permit due to extenuating circumstances that may affect the safe delivery of the equipment, including inclement weather.
Thank you for your understanding and support during the construction of the Medical/Surgical Pavilion.
