Guy Mason Recreation Center

Glover Park has not one, but two recreation centers available to residents! The three-story building hosts many events and classes, focusing on crafts and the creative arts, from Brazilian Samba to china painting, to yoga and zumba. Outdoor facilities include: a full-size baseball diamond with fence, a recently renovated playground, and the neighborhood's only "official" dog park with fence, water, baggies and many dog friends to play with. Guy Mason is the location of the popular annual Glover Park Day. Guy Mason is supported by the Friends of Guy Mason a volunteer organization

Glover Park Softball

Glover Park Softball has been a tradition since 1982. This co-ed softball league plays at Stoddert Field and usually attracts a large crowd of fans. An after-game barbeque usually is in order. The season typically goes from April to July.

Hike Glover Archbold Park

Glover Archbold Park is federal parkland managed by the National Park Service and it is an extension of the Rock Creek Park system of parkland in Washington, DC. The park has many walkable trails entered from various points in the neighborhood, and one can walk from Glover Park to the C&O Canal at the Potomac River, crossing only one street at Reservoir Road. Foundry Branch Creek runs through the middle of this section of wooded parkland, with ravines on either side.

DC Services Online

Did you know Glover Park-ers can take care of a lot of business with the city these days online?

Public Transportation

Glover Park has convenient Metro Bus service to the Dupont Circle metro, with pick-up points throughout the neighborhood, and a ride of about 10-15 minutes, maybe a little longer during rush hour. This is the D2 route, or the "D2 Shuttle" as it does a loop between the neighborhood and Dupont Metro. A D1 rush hour bus also serves the Dupont Metro and goes beyond to the downtown business district.

Rent a Capital Bike Share Bicycle

Tired of the bus? Feet hurt? No car? Just want to explore? Glover Park has two locations where anyone can pick up a Capital Bike Share bicycle: the baseball field at Calvert St and 39th Street, and Calvert Street at Observatory Circle by the Guy Mason parking lot. These bikes are popular, so check the station map link below before you head out - this updates the availability of bikes in real time (I think).  You can rent for 24 hours, 3 days or 30 days, and the kiosk takes credit cards.

P.S. don't forget to bring your helmet....
