A woman was hit by a Peapod delivery truck and died around 6:15 pm on Thursday June 11th. See link to WTOP article. Facts still are a bit sketchy, but apparently the truck was heading south on Wisconsin towards the 37th St. fork to make a right on Calvert Street and hit the woman during that right turn. It is not clear if she was in the intersection, crossing legally or not, or on the curb. There were witnesses and the truck stopped immediately. Coincidentally, power had gone out to most of residential Glover park at this time. It is not clear if light or signal failure contributed to the incident. Details of the incident, including the woman's name, have not been released.
