Renovations to the Stoddert Elementary school playground are underway! The playground, installed as part of the larger Stoddert renovation project in 2010, has been a popular play area both during and outside of school hours. Renovations will include: removing some contaminated soil (which had been fenced off since opening); laying of artificial turn for year-round play; replacing the large climbing apparatus and adding more permanent seating in shaded areas.

Work began in late July and the project management is aiming for completion before school starts, though there is a good chance it will not be completed until a few weeks after school starts. Currently the area in fenced off to the sidewalk, making access to the school entrance by large numbers of people rather difficult.
