Georgetown Carpet Moving to Georgetown

Updated: Dec 27, 2019

Georgetown Carpet at 2208 Wisconsin Avenue in Glover Park has found a new home just down the street across the neighborhood border in Georgetown at 1815 Wisconsin Avenue just south of the Safeway. Georgetown Carpet had been in their Glover Park location since 1981 but was compelled to plan to vacate when the building was sold to a developer seeking to build condos (see prior article). 1815 Wisconsin is the location of the long-vacant property that housed Noodles & Co, and the adjacent Joseph A. Bank clothing retailer. Neither business lasted very long in that location.

Ben Tabar, longtime owner of Georgetown Carpet, is planning to move the business down the road in a couple of months, then the store will be demolished for the development. Ben is originally from Iran and has been in the carpet business for decades now. He has stores in Bethesda, MD and Fairfax, VA as well. By the way, how often do you call a business and get the owner answering the phone and offering to help you personally? Ben will take care of you. He handles carpeting, rugs and hardwood floors, and has a wide selection in store to browse. Do you have little time and need someone who can handle all the details? Give him the key and he will handle your project start to finish without a hassle. This is a great service especially if you have investment properties that need attention quickly. Maybe those 40 new condos will need his services...
