Tis the Season for Events in Glover Park

The holiday season has arrived in Glover Park and neighborhood events are full of abundance, gratitude, merriment and generosity. Check out the Glover Park Events Calendar and sign up to join your neighbors and get in the spirit! Links to ticketed events can be found on the calendar so you can reserve your spot.

Here is a summary of the plethora of holiday activities already scheduled in Glover Park:

“Kick off” the season with some rousing World Cup days at In Bocca al Lupo 11/22-23, 11/25-29, and 12/1. Reserve a seat or a booth with a guaranteed screen view and non-stop pizza during the game. You can’t get alcohol at the stadium but the staff here will gladly serve you a beverage or two!

Are you not excited about spending all day preparing a Thanksgiving meal? Come to the Glover Park Grill at the Glover Park Hotel, and enjoy a full traditional Thanksgiving meal, plus entertainment in the evening. Thursday 11-8.

Grab brunch Sunday 11/27 at In Bocca al Lupo and enjoy the soothing holiday harp music of Zoe Coppola to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Get energized on the evening of December 1st with Pizza and Puccini as you listen to the famous Loredana Ruggiero perform songs from Italian operas. It will make you want to buy a plane ticket to Tuscany.

Do you know the secret behind the success of Glover Park Ace Hardware and why we are so lucky to have a hardware store right here in the neighborhood? That secret is owner and CEO Gina Schaefer, and you will get to meet her on December 7th at 7pm! She will be discussing her new book “Recovery Hardware” at the East City Bookshop on Capitol Hill.

On December 10th, get in the spirit of the New Year with a champagne tasting at Pearson’s Wine and Spirits. They will be sampling Laurent Perrier champagnes from 2-5.

Stoddert Elementary is having its blow-out winter celebration at the school on Saturday December 10th from 2-4. Meet Santa, donate toys, drop off holiday letters for cancer patients (the letters do wonders, take some time to write one) and a whole lot of other fun activities for the students.

Encourage seniors you know to join the Department of Parks and Rec pre-Christmas dinner on December 10th at Guy Mason Rec Center from 5-7. There will be Christmas carols for all to join in. Fun time.

Join Swinging in the Season at In Bocca al Lupo on December 15th at 7:00. The popular Tony Gudell will perform holiday-inspired music evoking Sinatra and the Rat Pack. This one is popular and likely will sell out; get your tickets early.

Move to the jazzy beat of the Jack Irby Jazz Trio at In Bocca al Lupo on Thursday December 22nd at 7:00. Jack lives in DC and was born in Richmond and the saxophone is his passion.
